Business Finance Small Software

I just bought a small used car lot here in South Florida. The past few months I have been selling cash only transactions. I would like to expand into financing, and BHPH. Can anyone recommend software that is cheap, and also does anyone know of online lenders, or other financing sources I can use for my customers? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I use AutoXplorer. They are out of california. www.Autoxplorer.com I don't know what you consider cheap, but they will do better than the prices quoted on the internet. Have tech support Sat and Sun! Keep in mind, if you intend to print your forms, there will be a programming fee each time a new form is released. (Contracts change every couple of years to account for changes in legislation). We also run our credit bureaus with them. Manheim also has software (Tracker) and it is supposed to be good. They are definitely more money - being Manheim and all. www.manheim.com May not be as suitable for a small operation. As far as financing sources, introduce yourself to all the banks and finance companies as well as credit unions in your area. They won't all sign you up but can't hurt to have more tools in the toolbag! If other dealers not so cutthroat, ask them which ones they are using. (Expect to get snowed by a few) Good luck.

I have had a difficult time trying to break into the Finance arena. I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Finance from Binghamton University (Top NY State School). I graduated in December 2004 (3.0 GPA). I have managed my personal and my family's portfolios since I was 14. I have invested in Stocks/Stock Options/Mutual Funds, etc. I love researching and watching the stock market moved, and have learned a great deal about the market and the economy. Also since I was 16, I have owned and operated my own small computer repair business. I have taught people how to use software, as well as build cutomized computers and fix any hardware or software problem. Through my own business I have learned communication skills (written and oral), and also how to interact with customers and people. i am very responsible, detail oriented, analytical, and I know how to manage my time. I will add in the next writing. I am out of room.

Best software would either be QuickBooks or PeachTree. I use both since I'm an accountant. They both are very user friendly but I prefer Quickbooks. If you're looking for a less expensive software - MS Money is good for just personal finances - I would definately not recommend it for business finances. I usually use MS Access to write and design my own software - which can be very time consuming and you have to know what you're doing. But I would recommend for a small business the use of QuickBooks.

I run a private counseling practice, so I don't have any inventory or employees to manage. I don't even need to send invoices most of the time. I operate the business as a sole propriator, and I include the business income on my personal tax returns. I just need to keep track of my income and expenses and plan my taxes. What software would be best for this? The software also needs to be affordable. I have thought to use Quickbooks, or maybe Quicken since my business is very simple. But if I chose Quicken, which version would be best? Or would another program be better?

Sounds like Quickbooks, the smallest version they have. I use Quickbooks online, but it is because I'm a consultant that is always at my client's place of business. I can send invoices, run credit cards, access my client data anywhere there is an internet connection.

Hey! I have my MBA in finance, as well as a bachelors degree in finance. I found it diffucult to break into my field in the beginning as well. The best advice that I can offer you is to try and start small. That's what I had to do. Try to be an intern or apprentice someplace. it stinks to start like that because, at least with me, your college loan payments start and you're income is not enough to make those payments. If you can work hard, you'll work upward. Be patient too, I had trouble with that! It will take a while, and you may hear many no's, but eventually someone will say yes and off you go! Good luck, you sound smart and ambititous. I'm sure you'll move right up in your chosen finance field in no time.
