If you have a wired phone you'll get one. If not, go down to the local phone company and ask for one.

pues mira, el proceso para eso es algo complejo y aun mas si estas en el extranjero. Para poder accesar a las paginas blancas es necesario que tengas un numero telefonico contratado con telmex y a su vez, que lo registres. Una vez registrado este numero lo debes activar llamando desde este mismo numero a telmex para que tu servicio este completamente activo y asi puedas tener acceso a las paginas blancas. Por cierto, el numero al que debes llamar es el 01 800 123 6060 siempre y cuando tu estes en mexico. Como veras es muy complejo este servicio, como recomedacion, si tienes familiares o algun conocido que tenga contrato con telmex pues pidele que active su servicio y que te pase el numero de usuario y password para poder accesar a las paginas blancas. This is taken care of by the phone company. Call them and ask for an unlisted number when you order your new phone. There is a small fee associated with this service, but it's nominal and well worth it. Or, forego the landline for the cell and you won't have to worry about it.

I would like to enable high school classmates to find me via the White Pages online, but I do not have local telephone service. I do have a cell phone though. Any ideas?

Both Yahoo and Google will let you publish your number. Search for "White Pages"

Every search I've done for a phone number (Florida) seems to just be a front for fee-based search services. Seems like the white pages should be available.....Thanks!

Yes, they have white pages. If your friend is Taiwanese, you'll have a heck of a job counting the number of strokes in the Chinese characters (I actually found somebody that way). If he/she is not Taiwanese, there is a phone book published in English and does have white pages. I found one at the airport - it's about 3/4 inch thick, with an original name of "Telephone Directory Taiwan, R.O.C." and is issued by Chunghwa Telecom. Don't expect too much though, because the 'residence' white pages are only 12 pages long.
