First thing you must note down that if you want your website to be free of cost , you cant have your own domain name i.e. it cant be www.yourname.com etc for free. However , it can be free if you compramise with subdomain like yourname.serviceprovider.com or www.serviceprovider.com/yourna... etc i have mine free website that you can see http://mishra.awardspace.com or http://mishra.8m.com And you can have free webspace. Just follow these steps 1. Go to one of the free web hosting website(listed below) go and search the best web web hosting on http://www.freewebspace.net or go directly to the one selected by me http://www.awardspace.com 2. Register for free and remember your password. 3. Create your home page on your PC using html(if you dont know html you can create it using FRONTPAGE which is provided by Microsoft in windows 2000 or you can download a html editor from net also). 4. Save this page as index.htm 5. Now login in your free webhosting account and go to file manager(most of the webhosting websites have file manager) 6. Upload your "index.htm" page at top level without renaming 7. if you want more than one pages in your website then create those pages with your html editor(FrontPage)with their different names and provide links in your homepage(index.htm) targetting each of those page. (in target dont type the web address , just type the name of the target with extension like help.htm) 8. Upload those other pages also at same level. 9. Is it legal for the management of a hotel to remove an entire section of advertising from each and every Yellow Pages directory placed in their guest rooms simply because the management of the hotel does not like the (totally legal) service being advertiseed? In this case, it's the Escort Services ads that they've removed, but it might just as well be tattoo parlours, abortion services, divorce lawyers, gun dealers, mosques -- can the management of a hotel that accepts and makes available Yellow Pages directories modify them before making them available to their guests? And if so, do they have an obligation to inform their guests of this prior to or at the time of booking?

Yes it is legal. The hotel management could just not put the directory in the room, if they so choose.

I am the Sales and Marketing Coordinator for my company and have been put in charge of finding ways to improve usage of our directory. What would you personally like to see in a yellow page book that would make it more useful to you. Even if it's something you think you'd never see....I'd like to know. Thank you for the help!

I do not envy your task, because people rarely use the yellow pages as they used to do. I still use them because they are handier than turning on the computer each time I want to look up a business that is listed, but you have to drive business there and that usually means doing things like your local newspaper will do: give money saving coupons inside. The type should be larger in many big city publications, too, for if it is too small, people will not want to use it.

I receive 6 full sized Yellow Pages directories at my house each year. This seems like a terrible waste of paper. And since paper comes from trees, that means lots of trees gave their lives to go directly into my recycle bin.

It's RECYCLED !! Last year Waste Management alone recycled enough paper to save 40 million trees..Man, where have you been??

and does the add stay in the book for the entire year - do they do any deals like place an add for 2 years and get it half prics or sumthin?

You can easily pay $200 or more for a small quarter panel and a year contract is usually required. The ad does stay for the whole year in most cases but you have to contact the publication at least a month or two before the next edition comes out if you want to cancel your ad or else you will be charged for the next edition. If you have a small 1 to 4 person business you may not want to use the yellow pages yet because they are so expensive. At the very least if you have a business phone line you will get a free listing in the yellow pages in the category you choose. Often for $10 or $20 extra a month you can add a line or two to you free listing to explain a little more about your services. This is a great way to go if you have a small budget. another benefit will be that you will also often show up on your local Internet yellow pages if you have a yellow page phone book listing. You can also consider that a basic website for your business can be way more inexpensive per month than a yellow book ad. I get more inquiries from people using the Internet than the phone listing I had before.

We received two large print editions last week, and without looking I threw out current white and yellow pages. I have no residential directory now until Spring. My service is AT & T. Try to locate a phone number to call about this situation !! I can't find where to even start and call to report this . It is crazy and I don't believe there is a store in town, because trying to locate that in a local directory I have on hand or on line is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I really really need to replace a Thompsons telephone directory and also a Yellow pages for up north east. anyone know where i can get my hands on some? i seen a vid on the net of how to rip up a telephone book technique and ive torn them in half! there my WORKS ones... boss is back next week and can really bitch like mad about stuff like that... cheers Yup it was the youtube vid lol.
