I am currently in Treasury Service sales for a large financial institution and am considering going back to school for an MBA. I am curious to hear about any recommended programs (outside of a CTP) that could help advance my career.

An MBA can advance anyone's career. Your work experience should enable you to get into a good program. Look for one in the Official MBA Guide, a free service. It offers a huge amount of information on the best schools.

What do you think would be good for our society to do in order to avoid having to foot the bill when bailing out this very large financial institutions (regulated like banks, unregulated like Bear Sterns and semi regulated like Freddy Mac) 1- requiring the institutions to put away (with the gov or with Insurance co.) truly sufficient reserves. 2- Prohibiting them from exceeding certain size (percentage of market or other measurement) often occurring through mergers and acquisitions 3- combinations of the above. 4- Other I am assuming here that the institution is so large that if default and failure are allowed to take place, the financial markets could suffer an unacceptable harm. I am not talking here about the federal guarantee the bank CDs now carry.

Yes, that would make sense, these huge financial institution should be required to take out insurance to prevent them from collapse. The insurerer would then require that the books are kept in order, and then falsifaction of accounts and hiding of bad debts would be a thing of the past. Stopping these companies from becoming too large would also reduce the risk to the economy, increase competition, and create more jobs. Ps. it looks like this question did not post correctly, It may be worth trying it again.

if one has $ in money markets (mutual funds specifically) is it wise to pull his money out now, or ride it out in the hopes that his portfolio will eventually recoup? ive read investors have been going to their banks, pulling out their entire life savings- is this a wise move? your advice is much appreciated!

McCain is Mr. De-Regulation. His financial guru, Phil Graham, is also a champion for de-regulation. Our largest financial institutions are now crumbling due to this de-regulation. The Republican version of Capitalism has failed, and now the government takes over, a la Socialism. Oh, McCain invented the Blackberry too.
