For branded items, especially electronics goods, you may find the information of their site itself. For the others, for which no site/ information of site is available, you can trust shooping sites like ebay to some extent. They will keep their rates close to the market rates (sometimes a bit higher, but never less). Hope you find it useful.

Is there arbitrage possible in Commodities Market in India ? Arbitrage is already being done in Cash2Cash and Cash2F&O markets. But is it possible in Commodities Market. Yes it's possible. One example of arbitrage involves the New York Stock Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. When the price of a stock on the NYSE and its corresponding futures contract on the CME are out of sync, one can buy the less expensive one and sell the more expensive. Because the differences between the prices are likely to be small (and not to last very long), this can only be done profitably with computers examining a large number of prices and automatically exercising a trade when the prices are far enough out of balance. The activity of other arbitrageurs can make this risky. Those with the fastest computers and the smartest mathematicians take advantage of series of small differentials that would not be profitable if taken individually.

I am aware of things like Ameritrade and Sharebuilders for the small investor for stocks on the exchange. I am interested in commodities, preferably oil.

Yes oil is a commoditie, listed under utilities and utilities is the way to go in the market . You see investing in the market is not so complex just don't put all your eggs in the same basket ! Meaning You have to have a well diversified portfolio, meaning don't put you money in one market or one specific commoditie . You should have your money split up in many commodities as well. Like realestate,bullion,and other funds other than the stocks and bonds . And if You use an adviser You should no that a great adviser will earn you 10 to 13% on your portfolio no mater what the Market does . That is why it is Important to DIVERSIFY ! And If You choose to go alone remember this as most investers do is to read three top investmant pappers and magazines and make your picks based on advise of the top three advisers .
