You get it at https://www.annualcreditreport.com and you can get it three times a year if you ask only one of the reporting agencies for a report every four months. If you go directly to the site of the three agencies: Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion, they will charge for the report. Also, when you ask for your free report, they will suggest you buy your credit score from them. The free report does not include your credit score. You have to pay for that, but you don't really need it.

i would like to know if both my wife and i are eligible for the free annual credit report each. in other words can she do one, and can i do one, each year?

yes each person is allowed one copy of their personal credit report per year under the new irs rules.

FREE -- GET 3 A YEAR and it is SECURE: You are allowed 1 free credit report a year from Experian. Another free 1 through Equifax. Then 1 more through TransUnion. So in all you can get 3 free a year. No, it's not an inquiry. It's your right.

You know how you get those free annual credit score reports by the 3 credit companies...well let's say you checked it today on March 27th, so anything added after March 27th to your credit report cannot be viewed the next free year, huh? I'm talking about free annual credit reports, not the ones you pay. Thanks!

Correct. You can not view that bureau's report until the next year if you have already viewed it this year. So anything added after you have viewed it, you will not see on that report until the following year unless you pay to see it or to be updated with changes regarding your report. :) ** Keep in mind, the more inquiries you have towards your credit report, the more strikes against you.
