past due accounts that i paid it shows paid,but i notice my credit score havent change.my question is does the credit reporting agencies update the fico score on a certain day or something.

First, Experian doesn't use FICO. They generally give you Vantage score. Equifax still uses FICO. Or you can get your real, up-to-date FICO at MyFico.com. Second, paying off derogatory items on your credit report will NOT improve your score unless you get the items deleted. In fact, it could initially lower your score. The older an item,the less impact on your score. When you pay old debt, the transaction becomes current and counts more in your score calculation, including the negative stuff. However, creditors look at more than just your score. They look at your whole credit report. Paid old debt always looks better.

I just checked my experian credit report, and there is another social security number listed, theres a spot that says other ss# known by, how could this happen? I checked i have no debt connected to it that is not legitimate, whats the deal?

You need to dispute this with the credit bureau.

I paid off a credit card and thought my score would go up. But every time I check my credit report (experian only) my score is the same. It shows my old balance on the card. I paid it off a couple of weeks ago. How long will it take for the balance on the credit report to be 0 and my sore to increase?

it can take up from 30 to 60 days most places will report every 30 days but some every 60-90 days

Checking up on my credit, and so far, I was only able to access Equifax for my credit report. It was better than I thought, but it's quite obviously not all 3 of the big reporting agencies. Since I only have my Equifax info, I'd prefer only applying to Equifax-using credit providers. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I notice when I checked my experian credit report it indicates that I don't have any major credit cards but I have three. Why are they not showing up on my credit report?

Well you might want to check the other credit bureaus like Transunion and Equifax. Sometimes they show different things. Then if they are still not there you can contact them and explain.

AnnualCreditReport.com is the site mandated by the FTC to allow you to access your credit report online at all three credit bureaus. It is the only site that does not require you to sign up for monitoring. FreeCreditReport.com is not free. You have to sign up for their monitoring service. You may have to send Experian a letter with copies of your ID to get your free report from them. You do want to check your report at all three. They are all different companies and can have completely different info.

My daughter is turning 17 in May and she has been interested in building a good credit file. She already has a checking account with my wife's cosign and a debit card. How can I help her establish a credit report and how can we check her credit report? I have tried it online at experian and transunion and equifax, but it says you have to be 18 or older to do it. it is recommended to check your child's credit report to verify there isn't any identity problems. but how can I do that if you have to be 18 or older to check it out? please help me, she is very responsible and is a total adult. she actually tries to help me with my finances! how can i help her with her credit? she has tried to apply for build-credit credit cards, but again you have to be 18 or older. Well, you could check with your credit card company and see if she can be added as an authorized user on the credit card. but since she's not quite 18, I'm not sure that will work. Besides emancipation, (which I seriously doubt that you'll want to do) You're going to have to tough it out . But another thing is to check to see if secured credit cards are offered where your daughter does her banking. If she's still not able to do that, I would suggest saving up so that when she does turn 18, she can put a sizable deposit down to secure a line of credit. And if she's responsible like you're saying she'll have an unsecured card in no time!

Two weeks ago, I applied for a new credit card and am still waiting to see if I have been approved. I just now checked my experian credit report and the report now lists the card I applied for as an account in good standing. Does this mean I've been approved for the card?

Yes. If you don't get it soon, call the credit card company - it may have gotten lost or intercepted. It could take another 10 days or so to arrive though - the account is set up before the card itself is made.
