Equifax Credit Report

besides citifinancial which other major loan institution check ONLY the equifax credit report when they make their decision to give you a loan. thanks

On the report from the denied credit firm, it only gave debt amounts from Equifax and no names. I paid off all my bills at the end of 2005 and early 2006 and only have two debts, outside the two mortgage payments. What can I do to get the info and get my credit report updated. I can't get the free credit reports, because someone has already used my name and they say I have already requested th "free report". I have not requested that report this year. Are there any options for me/

Buy a credit report. They aren't that expensive. It seems like a cheap cost to fix what could be a big problem if you let it go.

i just turnt 18 and i have been applying for things to try to build credit but nothing will accept me. i even gpot denied for a babies r us card and friendmans, and other credit cards, and small loans. ive tried everything. lol. but everything tells me that my equifax credit report is missing. I tried going to the website to view my report but it tells me that information is missing or is incorrect.

Your report isn't missing....it's non-existent! You probably have never received a loan or had a credit card, so you have not established a credit rating yet. There are a number of companies offering low limit credit cards for students...start there. If you are trying to get a bank loan, ask to speak to the manager. You need to convince him you have the ability to pay back a loan, so show him your paychecks. If you have been working for several months that will help. If you don't have a job at all, don't even bother. You may also need to get someone to co-sign.

Has anyone ever used this to get their credit report/score? A friend of mine told me that each time u check your credit , your credit will be affected (in a bad way). Is this true? thanks in advance.

Yes, your credit score may be lowered slightly for checking it, but it really only gets effected if you have a bunch of others checking it too...Like creditors ECT...
