http://www.freecreditreport.com They will usually charge you a $1, but like $35 if you don't cancel the subscription within 30 days.

im trying to find a store that i can get a charge card. im trying to improve my credit. I have a score thats really low and ive even tried orchard bank. any ideas for some store credit options???????? also i do have a repo on there and only one credit card. ive tried eveywhere. i couldn't afford it then. i mkae very good now and want to atleast keep trying..

try target, babies r us, khols, robinsons may, any store that you shop at frequently enough. Try to get one with a lower intrest rate though

Yes and No. The current system allows that if you are an authorized user it will be included in your credit score. However, that person with the original card had to have a perfect and long history for it to do the most good. But this loophole is being closed. As of September, Fair Issac who does the FICO Score will use new calculations that will not include authorized users. Even if you were to be added today, it takes about 30 days to be reported to the credit reporting agencies. So by the time they do report it, FICO scores will be using the new calculations and it won't do you any good.

is having 4 $300 credit-limit credit cards as bad/ the same as having one $1200 credit-limit credit card??

Worse. Your credit score is based up partly of how much open credit you have, which includes the number of credit lines. With 4, your minimum payments would be higher for each than 1 at $1200. Most people should have no more than 2 credit cards.

Can anybody explain how you credit works? This is what I mean...when you apply for credit it's a mark against your credit. You haven't purchased anything, but it goes against your score. Now, your score is what tells creditors your "credit worthiness". How can you get credit, if, when you apply for credit, you get denied b/c you have too many inquiries? But you have the inquiries b/c you want to get some credit. Does it make any sense to anybody>>>? I am not trying to...someone else on Answers asked and it made me think of this question.

You need to build your credit up via other methods such as a vehicle loan, paying off your utility bills on time every month...etc. If you can't get a credit card, try getting a co-signer with good credit. If you manage to make every single payment ahead of time, or at least on time, your credit score will go up and you will establish a good credit history. Stop applying for stuff if you keep getting denied and get a co-signer. I know it's easier said than done, but that's how most people start down the credit road.
