How do I obtain my free annual credit report?

FREE -- GET 3 A YEAR and it is SECURE: You are allowed 1 free credit report a year from Experian. Another free 1 through Equifax. Then 1 more through TransUnion. So in all you can get 3 free a year. yes each person is allowed one copy of their personal credit report per year under the new irs rules.

When I am transferred to the Trans Union web site from annualcredit report.com, all I can see are offers for credit reporting products and the option to order them. There are no pointers to the free yearly credit report. How do I get the free report from this web site?

Went through the same nonsense, and used the telephone..No problem at all. Very quick and easy, and you will get a letter in the mail in a few days. Don't have the number handy but there are three reporting companies. Too much info is worse than none at all. Best wishes

i know you are allowed to get a free credit report from annualcreditreport.com and that you are allowed one free report from each of the three credit agencies a year. however, does when they say "each year" does that go by: one sometime between 2006-2007 or would the year go by like say you got one in september 2006, would you not be able to get another until september 2007? i'm only wondering because i looked back in around november 2006 last year and i went to go look at it today and it told me that i already looked at it for free online this year, and i haven't tried to access in 2007 until today...does that mean i have to wait until november?

It's a year from the last time you pulled your report.

I order my credit report from www.annualcreditreport.com but I cannot see my report online. I have to order by phone or by mail due to security reason. Does it happend to any one? How can I get it online?

Sounds like you may have failed to answer one of the security questions correctly. You really need to know how much you are paying on each loan a month to the cent. And prior addresses. This was my problem, and after I located the information and tried again, everything worked out OK. The other possible problem is your date of birth record they have may not be correct or you made a key entry error. You are using the correct website that does not charge, unless you want your credit score or some other service. Just make sure you check all credit agencies when the question appears. You will only have a limited time to view the reports, so it is best to print them out. Follow and answer the questions slowly so you do not make mistakes. If you are still having problems consider visiting each indivdual credit reporting agency site and request the reports that way. Hope this helps. I wish you the best.
