My best friends teeth are in need of dental care and she doesnt' have good credit or dental insurance. I know that hospitals care for people with no money on t.v. all the time, but what does someone like her do? She isn't in pain with them, but she is about to lose 2 of her teeth if something isn't done soon and she is so sad and I am sad for her. Please help!! We live in the Houston area.

Do anyone now what credit bureau GE Money Bank of Salt Lake City Utah use for extending credit for Credit Care. I want to get dental work done. My insurance cover some but not all. I know GE Money Bank of Salt Lake City Utah offer a credit card for health care. I ask my dentist they do not know nor would GE Money tell me. If anyone can help please let me know do they use Equifax, Experian or Trans Union. GE Money offer instant approval online or over the phone.

They use Equifax. Most of the time, but not always, it's an instant decision. If your scores are bad, below 600, or if you have fairly recent baddies, you might go through the dental office when applying. Many times having the medical provider apply for you will get you approved. If your scores are above 600 and if your baddies are old, if you have any, you might just apply online. If you know how much the dentist is going to charge, for instance they claim it will cost $1000.00, you might ask for $2000 or so. While they are fairly easy with approvals, they really stink at giving people increases. If the dentist is going to be fairly high, you will probably be given a 0% promo for X number of months. If you are given the promo, CareCredit may tell you your payments would be (for example) $10/month. If so, pay $30 or more a month. Be sure to have the promo paid off at least one month early.

Care Credit is how about 50% of my patients pay for their dental work. I have spoken to the Care Credit representative for our area before, and according to him, they use the 3 top credit scoring companies: TransUnion, Equafax, and Experian (Hope I spelled those right.) It isn't always those with bad credit who get refused. People with too much credit can also get denied, as they are considered a credit risk. Most of my patients already know up front when they are going to be denied. If they have really bad credit or a bankruptsy, then they don't bother applying. I have , however, had people who never thought they would be approved, get approved. In my office, we offer 12 months interest free on the Care Credit, and after that it is about 11.9% APR.

I am a dental hygienist and I work for and have worked in the past for dentist that participate in a program called care credit. Care Credit gives you the money that you need for the procedure, they pay the dentist, and you pay Care Credit back in a certain number of months. Keep in mind that the dentist has to perticipate with the program though. Call around and asks if they offer it.
