Checking your own credit does NOT affect your credit score. If somebody else pulls your report..then it would have an effect on your credit score, but nothing serious.

I recently ordered what I thought was the 30 day free trial from True Credit for myself and my husband. To my surprise they charged me the not free $14.95 report for both reports. I have yet to be able to pull up the one for my husband and they will not take the charges off my credit card. They will not cancel the report for my husband because they want information and keep saying that is not the right answer. It is now in dispute. NEVER NEVER NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes - THEY SUCK but I have used them for the last 3 years because they are the only company that will allow you to pull your report from all 3 of the major CRA's daily. They have double charged me a few times - and locked me out of my account a few times - call the customer service line - you will be transferred to a CSR in Bangladesh but they will correct the problem after they tell you they wont...and you have become completely exhausted by trying to explain the problem. You can also call your bank and dispute the charges since you are not receiving your product.

Is it true that credit bureaus are working with banks in a scam to keep peoples credit low to allow the banks to charge higher interest rates to people with low credit scores..and funneling money comps back to the credit reporting agencys.. anyone in the banking industry that might have knowladge or information on this.. Its an artical I came across ..if its true this would be bigger than the Enron scandal..

I doubt it. The banks would loose the business of the people who had too low of a score. Which would mean less people accepted, less money made on interest and late fees.
