What kind of loan is most economical for the customer (not the bank)? A Baloon loan or one with a fixed interest rate all the way through? It seems like the balloon loans you would be paying more interest since you have to re-negotiate the loan every so often? Please, I need some experienced people! Thanks!

a fully amortizing note fixed rate is always the best. Balloon notes you will pay very little towards the principal. When the balloon payment comes due-- what if your credit status has changed? I am a loan officer and I most always recommend a fixed rated note.The bank will push balloons since you will most likely come back and back and back.

my daddy gave sureity to his friend for home loans from a bank 7 yrs back . . later his friend has transferred his house in his wife's name. now he says he has no money to repay the bank.now my daddy is being asked to repay the loans or our house will be sealed. This is not something that can be resolved on Y! Answers or on the Internet. It is not possible to transfer a house that has a home loan (mortgage) on it. And one cannot transfer a house or any other property to someone else (least of all a spouse) in fraud of creditors. You need to consult a lawyer skilled in these subjects at once. You do not say what country you live in, so I can't comment further.

I need to consolidate my bank loans and federal sudent loans, which is the best. I am looking at citibank right now. Anyone have other suggestions? Thanks.!

You're going to hate my answer but.... The best bank through which to consolidate students is the one that will give you the lowest interest rate and who will actually approve your loan. This is really something you need to research yourself. The best bank for me or anyone else will most likely not be the best bank for you because our credit reports are different.

I know that it depends on the banks and the amount being borrowed etc. I'm just wondering from those of you who have small bank loans roughly how much the interest is. ( around $4000- 6000) Thanks

Most banks have published rates of interests dependant on the type of loan, how much and how long for .... generally they quote 'above base rate' or 'above xxxx bank base rate' ..... you need to check with the individual banks .... some will give preferential rates dependant on your banking history.... you can go in and ask any bank - they generally have a floor manager who can answer you and give you some leaflets to take away and think about .....
