Question #1: Which Oil Stocks are affected by Venezuela imports?
|
|
If Venezuela carried out its threat of not exporting oil to the USA, which oil companies are affected?
Which stocks should one buy, and which ones to avoid?
Best Answer
Chavez is a nut, boob and a jerk. If he doesn't sell his oil to us he has two choices. Either sell it to someone else or keep it. If he keeps it, he ruins his own economy and causes unrest amongst his already unhappy people. If he sells it to someone else, the oil they previously bought from someone else will be available to us and anybody else who wants to buy it. The only way that Chavez can affect the price and supply of oil is to keep his oil off the market. He's a communist who has a total lack of understanding of economics (he shares that affliction with many on the left). He my be stupid enough to do it, but I doubt it.
If he doesn't sell oil to his CITGO stations here in the US, they'll buy their refined product from Exxon, Marathon, Gulf, Conoco, etc. This is much ado about nothing.
Long term though oil should be a good investment, unless a Democrat gets in the White House. They have promised to increase taxes on all, especially the oil companies. Which will raise the price of oil even more and probably deepen the recession.

Question #2: Are there any correlations between oil stocks and oil prices?
|
|
With the prices of oil increasing, do these price increases translate into higher pricing for oil stocks?
Best Answer
Any economist can answer that without even trying. The answer is "it depends".

Question #3: How blind are president Bushes oil stocks?
|
|
As a condition of his presidency, his oil stocks must remain blind as must Cheny's, also, how much have his oil cronies contributed to his campaign? How much of those contributions have went to items such as yachts for him to throw political parties on? What's your opinon of president Bush? Is he tried and true, or as corrupt as they get? Also, how about that brother of his, Neil Bush, what do you think of his being convicted of a savings and loan scam? Does it run in the family?
Best Answer
Actually we may not have to worry about that much longer. Halliburton uprooted and moved to the United Arab Emirates. Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Mobil are next.
ANYONE WHO HAS A RETIREMENT OR 401(K) ACCOUNT OWNS SHARES IN EVIL OIL COMPANIES.

|
|
I believe a big E nergy discovery will be made soon (alternative energy source) and I want to short some of the oil stocks.
Best Answer
what you want is the ones with the greatest leverage in profit relative to the price of the commodity.
Without doing a lot of calculations [which would be a fee for service activity and thus is prohibited here], I suggest that you look at the ones that are just barely profitable in terms of net income per sales dollar.

Question #5: what are the best oil stocks to invest in?
|
|
I want to invest in oil..what are the best stocks to invest in?
Best Answer
Stick with the integrated oil companies such as Chevron (cvx) and Exxon mobil(xom). In a few decades when oil becomes very expensive to find and drill only the strongest companies will survive.
