You are talking about Canadian royalty trusts. Note the dividends are really distributions and a return of capital. The only trust I would consider buying is Canadian Oil Sands Trust.

The market will start to turn around when the write-offs from the major financial companies stop. Thats whats driving this downturn. Housing prices jumped 60% since 2000 and people kept buying, and now the market is making a correction. However, the economy is a lot stronger than most people realize, and it is very probable that we could see a major positive turnaround within a year or so. Oil prices are being dirven by speculators, who are buying massive quantites of futures of oil. The supply of oil is currently meeting demand, and in some cases over supplying it. OPEC recently said that it is refusing to increase their supply of oil because there simply is not enough demand. This market is being run by speculators, and it is also likley that oil will top out and possibly even drop (much like it did in the 1980's)

What about their major donors like Soros? How much did the donors make? How rich did top Dems get off of healthcare stocks?
